Violent Behavior is a Side Effect of SSRI Drugs — What Brooke Shields Didn't Know

July 1, 2005

In a recent article, Brooke Shields stated that when she stopped taking antidepressants, she almost drove her car into a wall, with her baby in it.

What she doesn't understand is that this exact phenomenon (the desire to drive a car into a wall — yes, that specific) is a well-documented side effect of antidepressant SSRI drugs! Because they are still in the body while withdrawing, this can be a withdrawal symptom as well.

For more information on this, and for many examples of other people who have had this same experience on SSRIs, see drugawareness.org.
